Nelson Live is an up-to-the-minute news website owned by Nelson Weekly and Waimea Weekly newspapers.
Nelson Live was founded in early 2015 in reaction to a growing need for up-to-the-minute news and information from the Nelson region.
Advertisers were also keen to supplement their newspaper advertising in this popular medium. Nelson Live has dedicated journalists working around the clock to ensure the latest news is live on Nelson Live.
Waimea Weekly was founded in October 2005 by local couple Steve Page and Jenny Bates. It steadily grew to become the region’s favourite newspaper. It has earned the trust of readers and advertisers alike with its strong presence in the community and strong focus on all things good in the region.
The newspaper is based in Richmond (10 minutes south from Nelson city) and serves the Tasman region, delivering to slightly more than 10,000 homes each Wednesday to as far south as Murchison and St Arnaud.
Nelson Weekly was founded in September 2010 as a sister paper to the Waimea Weekly. Owned by Andrew and Sarah Board, it quickly established itself in a market that was crying out for a well-read community newspaper. Its success was quickly reflected when it won the 2011 Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Emerging Business of the Year Award.
Nelson Weekly is based in Nelson city and delivered to every home in the Nelson City Council region – a little over 20,000 homes. It publishes each Tuesday and has quickly become a favourite of local readers.
Waimea Weekly also publish the region’s Grey Power Magazine. The publication is full of news and views targeted at the region’s rapidly growing older population. The magazine is delivered free to each of Grey Power’s 9000 members and gives advertisers an opportunity to reach that important market.
